This striking combination of a 15th century (unfinished?) Tower and early 19th century hall church is situated on a lovely square and the lovely lime-lined Voorstraat. The church wardens of the time would have liked to have had a superstructure on the tower. But yes, money was gone, other plans. The tower was used as a place of refuge when the Linge burst its banks again. The hall church (neoclassical and a rather different architectural style) replaces the then dilapidated old church. On the south side, the medieval wall has been left intact. Beautifully restored, interesting history (first years Abraham Kuyper, clock chair from 1468).
