Hidden in the forest, just off the path, you can find this historical hiding place, still half-buried in the ground. A sign will tell you something (in Dutch and English) about the history of this place. It was built during WW2 and inhabited by members of the resistance, until the Germans found the place and emptied their guns into it. All inhabitants safely made it out through a hidden exit. Very interesting to see the remains of this place!

Here is shown as best as possible what happened here during the war years. There were more hidden places on the Veluwe, such as the hidden village between Nunspeet, Vierhouten and Epe.

Very special attraction. Not easy to find anyway. I have now improved the location on the map ... Het den reminds me of Jan Terlouw's film War Winter. From the De Veluwe or the Schaapskooi parking lot it is a reasonable walk through a beautiful forest area.
