Good day to you, De Jong, carried out an entire engine overhaul of my Mercedes SL55 AMG Type: M113K . Why? because primairly i had a cool fluent leak in one of the cylinders and Kompressor. (at 145.000 km). I choose for a complete overhaul instead of a repair for the obvious reasons. De Jong performed first analysis and from there on we went forward. De jong turned out to be staffed with people with an enormous amount of knowledge (i am myself bachelor in science and trust me they have answers to all your technical questions when i comes down to engine engineering). Very important in such a project is communication and De Jong has not been difficult in sharing their knowledge in order to explain the complex processes inside of the engine and why all involved jobs were carried out the way they performed it or what was their reasoning behind certain tasks to be performed. I have been updated regular with photo's and movies from the whole process, they let me as well visit their work floor and witness the work they performed at the engine (which has been a great experience). I am now over two years and over 40.000 km further down the line with this engine (got very good instructions how perform proper run in by the way and how to handle the engine the best way) and have been monitoring my engine since then very close. The outcome is the engine runs in one word fantastic, i have even more power, the engine consumes less fuel and runs idle a lower rpm (100 rpm less than before). At full throttle (250 - 300 Km/u) the engine does not show any significant change in temperature (meaning cooling ability is close to perfect). If you have to make the decision to go for an engine overhaul, I highly recommend De Jong from my own experience (they do deliver that extra care you hope for). I went into this adventure with the idea of keeping my Mercedes for the future and so i did thanks to them, and the amazing thing is i dare to say that the engine is even better than it has been ever been before (and did had a lot of experience driving this car over the German autobahn for may year at high speed).
