Nice neat campsite. There was nothing open because of the corona lockdown, but we had a good time. You can walk straight into the forest from the campsite. The olde smildeger walking route is a nice walk of 8 km or 16 km. The route is well signposted.

Nice complete campsite. A central sanitary building that is kept clean. Many people know each other from previous years, some have been there all their lives. You should be able to stand it as an occasional visitor, but it doesn't bother me myself. There is plenty of entertainment for 12+. Only I was bothered by the smoking which the guidance does in the presence of the children. The bingo night was not exactly "Corona-proof". I understand that you have to run your campsite, but don't believe that the lack of a bingo night makes all season place holders cancel their place. Furthermore, neat disinfectant available at the entrance of the toilet building and a lot of time is spent on cleaning the sanitary facilities. The recreational lake on the campsite is very clean and nice to have in the neighborhood for a cool dip to "bake" on the beach. An ice cream can be bought in no time and the supermarket is a fifteen minute walk and can be reached by bike in 5 minutes. You can walk straight into the Drents-Friese Wold via the back of the campsite. In short, a great campsite to stay.

Never go here again Camping is poorly maintained, except for the lady at the reception, the staff is not friendly. Snubbed at the snack bar. This campground attracts the people who go for parties. Shouting drunkenly and playing loud music until late at night. Left earlier but had to pay for the whole stay. * Read the same bad reviews on other pages (so far) but these have now been removed * including my own. 2 stars for the positives. And those are the swimming lake with the slides and the sanitary facilities were clean and spacious.

The Horrebieter, surroundings are beautiful and places too. But the sanitary building ....... outrageous how dirty it is and that in the corona time. Small children who have to pee and have to do the big errand in the adult's toilet are not taken into account. a foul smell. In the 2 weeks that we were there, cleaning was done once and that because the sewer was blocked. Pity. Another tip adjust the data and information on the website truthfully. Carola Hooglugt
