Bussemakerhuis

Very nice, visited the place in August, I really like how well maintained are the items and the lady spoke English pretty well too! Really enjoy the tour and everything around it! Greetings from Hungary!

Nice little museum. There is very nice material on display. The house is also very beautiful. Museum shows a piece of Borne in the time of the factory.

There is plenty to see in the Bussemakerhuis museum, including information about the Twente linen industry, how linen is woven, about manufacturers and about Mennonites in Twente. All in all, there is more to see than you might initially expect. During the visit to the museum at the end of July, I received extensive explanations from a volunteer about how linen is woven from flax. You actually get to see all the operations on an old hand loom. It is certainly worthwhile to pay a visit to the Bussemakerhuis and while you are in Borne, take a walk through Oud Borne right away.
