Alex the manager there is so so friendly, what a nice guy

The location manager in Zaandam, Alex, is the most unprofessional and rude person I have ever met in the Netherlands. We emptied the storage we used. I went to the office to cancel my contract. The employee there was very nice and professional (I am sorry but forgot his name). It appeared that it was not clear for me that I still have to pay 15 days after I cancel my contract. I explained that to the employee and he was very nice to say he is sorry that there was maybe a miscommunication in the beginning. I gave a feedback that it should be stated more clearly because in the beginning I understood that this 15 days are if a request a storage and cancel the contract without using it. Then Alex disturbed our talk by stating :'we are not going to change our explanation because you didn't understand. This is what it is and you will pay! His tone of voice was sooooo rude! I said I undertand but the explanation in the beginning was not clear enough. My point was just to give a feedback. He continued with his rudeness stating that this is what it is and they will not change their way of explaining because I didn't understand it. I felt so offended by his way of speaking to me with such a rudeness. I cannot believe that nowadays with this competition on the market he thinks this is how a client should be treated. He left the desk and went to the back. While I was leaving, I told him that I am also on a management position and I will never treat my clients in such a way. I informed him that I will make a complaint because his behaviour was unacceptable. He just said : 'You can do whatever you want!'. Such an unprofessional attitude and rude tone of voice. I was shaking, because I was feeling so offended and treated so badly not only as a client but as a person. I will never ever use the services of Shurgard because of the way I was treated by Alex.

Clean, organised albeit a little bit expensive.

shurgard self-storage in Zaandam, great people who work there. you immediately know where you stand. nice spacious storage areas. easy carts to take it to the floors. very clean everywhere. fortunately also many cameras that record everything. so that you don't feel alone in the evening when you want to go to your storage. of course there is also a small disadvantage. that you have to key in everything to be able to use the elevator, and the door opens and closes with a code. also important to report. take a lamp on batteries, (rechargeable) then you are not unexpectedly in the dark. the motion detector happens to be in a different place with us. solved it with flashlight. let's hope they don't see me as a burglar. I've been a customer for years. and am now back as a customer. this is also temporary. How long is still the question. maybe I want to rent a little more, or option for a larger space. of course you can always just ask. that's what makes me so happy. mvg elles
