When Rutte announces at 5.30 that the cafes will close at 6 and if you have a few dollars left in your old piggy bank, where do you run to, dear reader? To Café het Calfven. You run briskly to Café het Cafven with the confidence that the other regulars are doing the same. Once arrived and with the billiard stick in hand, you will be surrounded by the best billiard players in the municipality. I was not only helped with my defects; I was touched by an idyllic wind of talent. 15 jupiler in the stomach or not, one is always ready for you.

Definitely a refreshment for the gastronomy. Also suitable for detours along the ring of Antwerp and the historic center of Calfven with all its beauty. The rumors that Maarten Nieuwenhuize in his younger days here once opened a cold raker are just those points that make a normal good café, an iconic legend. The first star was for the warm reception by the terrace visitors. The second star for the low temperature of the beer. The third star for the mythical sages about Maarten Nieuwenhuize. The fourth star for the free billiards class of the world champion. The fifth star for pointing out that we almost forgot our coats. What a wonderful result. Chapeau, or as they say in Calfven, good man.

The cafe is easy to travel from the center of Calfven. The café also has a hypermodern billiard table where Maarten Nieuwenhuizen in his younger years ever hit a ball. All in all, café Calfven is the ideal café to drink away your alimony on a Tuesday evening until the early hours, since a delicious juicy beer costs you only 1.2 peaks here)
