Roman Catholic Cemetery

Well kept Roman Catholic cemetery with some older graves and war graves of the Commonwealth. The Roman Catholic Cemetery in Baarle-Nassau contains Commonwealth War Graves, one Dutch War Grave and there is a grave for two Resistance fighters. All these victims fell in the Second World War. The two resistance fighters were men of the military police and resistance fighters: Adrianus van Gestel and Gradus Gerritsen. These men, together with the Belgian resistance woman Maria Verhoeven, were executed on the Galderse Heide in Breda. They were involved in resistance campaigns and in helping Allies go into hiding.
