Bed and Breakfast the Giechelaar

This was our first experience staying at a B&B and it was truly amazing! Mart & Arnol went above and beyond to make sure they could do everything they could for us, but they will tell you, “It’s all part of the Giechelaar experience”. My daughter and I traveled alone for almost 3 weeks and my husband joined us for 2 days. Breakfast is absolutely delicious, and their warm spirit just makes you feel like you aren’t a visitor. I traveled from America and had no clue about the transportation or could read the schedules or fees. Their beautiful daughter wrote up a complete schedule with the time we should be at the bus stop in order to reach our destination at our required time. Arnol even drove us to the Schipol to catch our flight. They even had a princess throne (car seat), for our toddler. The wonderful Mart also contacted the local bike shop, (Fietsfix Toby van der Heijden V.O.F.) to ask if they would attach the bicycle seat I purchased, and they did with no charge. That’s right, no charge. I cannot remember the gentleman’s name, but I grabbed him and hugged him so hard. I’m a hugger and most likely, scared him, but he was still sweet about it. Ha! When we return, we will purchase a bicycle from him. I am a huge big dog lover! The bigger, the better and my sweet Sam did not disappoint me. Nothing to fear if you are not a fan of dogs because she is a gentle giant and they do not allow her to run around freely and she is trained. You can pet her or, in my case, just love her to pieces! The goats, chickens, pond are beautiful, and they even left bread out so our little one could feed the goats. She even collected eggs with Mart & Arnol for our meals. Anneka and I miss Mart, Arnol and Sam so very much. Being an American, I’m used to hotels and home rentals, “nickel and diming” us. Basically, coming up with more ridiculous ways to get more money from us. We pay it because that is what we are accustomed to. We actually thought we would pay much more for our stay at the Giechelaar because we also rented the common area so my little one and I could have the place to ourselves. Although they could have easily charged much more for our stay, they did not. They are fair and good people. The more information you can provide prior to your arrival, the better. Mart and Arnol will definitely make sure everything is arranged for you. The B&B De Giechelaar will always be our home away from home! You will not regret staying here!
