Gilze-Rijen

Nice small railway station with quiet waiting room that you can enter - for free - using an OV card. Small library, high and low seats and intetesting photos of Rijen and its surroundings on the wall. Also information about an 11 km walk from the station to Oosterhout.

Small station serving the town of Gilze-Rijen. The trains usually stop here every half hour going both ways. There is a waiting room with some books, a vending machine, toilet and free wifi, but you need to open the doors with your ov-chipcard. Its also only open during weekdays. They have ov-bike lockers available if you need to rent a bike. There is also a busstop, but dont count on busses running regularly.

It's great that there is a station here, although the opening times of the waiting room are limited. Holland is not the most convenient place to travel by train for tourists due to the complicated and expensive OV chip card system, which is a pity.

There is a building with waiting room, which is nice in winter. And you can buy a snack there. The barriers are relatively often closed, which is inconvenient.
