Fontys Venlo University of Applied Sciences

Now I study Marketing Management ( previously it was called International Marketing ) at Fontys University in Venlo. I am extremely glad that I chose this university and this specialty. The course has been planned very interestingly, it is immediately possible to try everything in practice. Teachers are curious about what they teach and they are always ready to help and guide. Sometimes it is hard, but with sufficient motivation it is possible to solve all problems. The university also offers to work in the process of teaching, which is an incredible experience.

do NOT study IT here, the course is improving, but still, old materials, uncertain requirements on assignments and only a few teachers are capable of reviewing code and helping out with logical issue. Anyway the teachers are great, they DO want to help you graduate and learn stuff, but the examples are from old books (DataBases exam was from 2001, normalization questions and other useless stuff). How to improve you would ask? Well create more small assignments with CLEAR requirements and make students excercise "normalization" for example, when you create 30-40 databases from scratch you will learn way more, than studying harsh theory and drawing lines on paper.

I studied International Marketing at the Fontys International Business School in Venlo and can totally recommend it. The scripts were written easy and understandable and I always felt well prepared for the exams. I had the chance to be part of many projects and was able to connect with real companies as well. Also the opportunities to study abroad for one semester were very good, as Fontys has a lot of international partner universities around the world.

I can definitely recommend studying at Fontys because not only theory, but also a lot of practice is required. Besides the semester abroad in the fifth semester, you also get the opportunity to do an internship in the sixth semester. Fontys prepares you perfectly for your career and gives you the opportunity to demonstrate practical experience.

I have studied International Marketing in Fontys Venlo. I have chosen this university as I was looking for universities that offered courses that would teach information that would be easily applied in daily corporate life as well as would help to easily find a stable job. The choice of Fontys lied in a fact tat I have had a friend who studied here 6 years ago and he recommended it for me, I chose Venlo campus as it offered the course that I was mostly interested in - International Marketing. I can say that During the 4 years of my study I have met lots of different people that I am still friend with today. I can also say that I have learned a great deal of various academical skills that I use on my daily corporate life, from desc research to marketing and academic report writing. Moreover through the use of practical experiences and knowledge gained from the course I was able to successfully complete 2 internships in Dutch international companies. During this internships I have learned a great deal of Digital Marketing and after the completion of my study, I found a job in a Dutch company in Amsterdam. All of that has been achieved without the necessity to learn the Dutch language or have a European passport, all that was required was knowledge (that I gained in Fontys) and experience (that I gained throughout Internships). As a conclusion I would say that I would definitely recommend this university for anyone who is looking to gain a good deal in terms of knowledge and practical experience!
