It is revelation for tourists. Nice place, three channels, I think so it is about ten or fifteen meters between high level of water and low level. I really recommend this place. Ofcourse in Sommer time, now (7.11.2020) it is not so warm, but place still nice.
The Maasbracht control center of Rijkswaterstaat. Here the Sluices of Born, Maasbracht, Heel, Linne, Roermond and Belfeld are served. But also the water management of the Meuse, with the weirs of Borgharen, Linne, Roermond, Belfeld and several fortification divers and fish ladders are all arranged here.

No longer navigable part of the Meuse built between 1925 - 1935 the 36 km long Juliana Canal between Maastricht and Maasbracht. With the construction of the Juliana Canal Maasbracht developed to the former largest inland port of the Netherlands, cargo was v. a. Hard coal from southern Limburg collieries. Here is also the place where Meuse and canal meet again. In order to cope with the height difference of 23.60 m (!) Over the entire route, the canal has a total of three locks. Here at the site, the lock at 11.85 m has the largest height difference of all locks in the Netherlands. He was named after Juliana Louise Emma Marie Wilhelmina (* 1909 - 2004), Princess of the Netherlands, Oranje-Nassau, Lippe-Biesterfeld, Duchess of Mecklenburg and Queen of the Netherlands from 1948 to 1980. Control center Maasbracht
It is located at the lock of the Netherlands, which manages the biggest height difference. The pentagonal building, with a dark glass front and a pentagonal view from the top, is the lock center from which all the locks in the area are remotely controlled. From here you have a wonderful view over the port of Maasbracht, which was once the largest inland port of the Netherlands. He is also the place where the Maas and Juliana canals converge. In the adjacent residential marina, the Wachthaven, there is also a brick building, it is the pumping station for the nearby lock. The lock exit also forms the bridge over the Juliana Canal at the same time.
