Old train track from Hattem central to Apeldoorn. The Dutch Central Railway Company (N.C.S.), founded in 1860, initially set itself the goal of establishing a railway connection between Utrecht and Zwolle. The total contract price was 8,132,000 guilders. The contractor in question did not fulfill his obligations and the Parisian firm Vitali, Picard et Cie. Became the new contractor. Work began on July 15, 1861. The land purchase amounted to f. 1,400,000.00 allocated. No route had been plotted; that was left to the contractor and he succeeded on this amount f. 800,000.00 to save. As a result, some stations could be located far outside the city, including Hattem Central Station, located on Oostersedijk. This was also the final station until 1864. Hattem Stad station followed in 1913. The Royal Decree of January 31, 1879 made it possible to build local railways and steam tramways in addition to the main railways. On June 15, 1888, the Hattem CS - Apeldoorn railway line was officially put into use. The route ran over what is currently called the Roseboomspoor (bicycle path).
