Het Vogelhuisje

Around Christmas & New Years we always look for something cozy with a bath and far away from the crowds. Because we also wanted to visit the Wadden Sea and the Seal Center, we chose Het Vogelhuisje in Twijzelerheide. Unfortunately because of the Corona, we were mainly dependent on this cozy little house, spacious enough for the two of us and with regular visits from the birds. Because of our experience with cottages on camping sites, we had quite a bit of stuff from home. But that was really not necessary here. Thanks to the good care of Wil, everything you can think of (in bird style) is available. On arrival, for example, there was a welcome flower on the table and we could immediately beat a (bird) egg in the pan. Salt & Pepper present of course. The equipment is compact but up to date and certainly complete. Important: Everything is spotlessly clean and none of the items are "worn out". The bath in particular is a "wow". Take a seat with the two of you and then you can easily store the champagne glasses on the wide rim. The generous badgeiser supplies plenty of hot water and shower / bath foam is ready. If you still lack something: just shout. So enjoy it. There are many paths in the area and after a tip from Wil about the carbide shooting, we took an overwhelming walk. On New Year's Eve we were surprisingly treated to oliebollen and the powdered sugar was not lacking. The house still has "single" glass so that the old style has been preserved. In previous reviews I read that it was quickly too hot because of the oversized stove. Thanks to a small adjustment it is now easy to regulate and in position "3" it is wonderfully warm and constant. Whether we had a good time? A fat 10 for this nice complete and especially hospitable hideaway.
