Van der Valk Hotel Leiden

Very nice hotel along the Rhine between Leiden and the Hague. Part of the hotel, mostly public areas, is a repurposed 17th century building.

The restaurant isn’t so bad. Hopefully salad bar would be more attractive. And staff is a bit slow. But it’s more than average.

Good Hotel, breakfast and dinner very tasty, rooms generally nice but bathroom used and a little bit older and needs to be renovated. Reception and waitress good service, wfifi fast and the for free parking lot direct in front of the hotel.

Great location. Good parking. On a tropical day such as today, great to lunch along side the water, watching the boats go by.

I did stay as I could not book. On phoning the hotel I was told by the receptionist that after finding no online booking that she could not hear me. I subsequently emailed and left a voicemail. As I had no response from the hotel I booked elsewhere. I then received an email early hours of the morning to which I responded saying had booked elsewhere. I have sent 2 further emails with no response. I am glad not to be staying if this is the level of customer service
