Museum De Lakenhal

My daughter did the etching workshop and loved it. The museum offers different kinds of historically important things in relation to Leiden. Recommended.

Museum De Lakenhal is a brilliant city museum of history and fine art in Leiden, Netherlands, with a large collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. The building is a former guild hall for cloth merchant and hosts an important collection of altarpieces.

Beautifully spacious designed after the renovation. There are a couple galleries with paintings by Jan Steen, Rembrandt and other amazing Dutch Artists. Also, there is a really nice section about the Siege of Leiden (1574) and interesting exhibitions every now and then. If your interested in the city, there is a small museum shop with interesting books and other souvenirs you can buy.

Newly renovated. Beautiful exhibits. Not advisable for little kids, the staff is highly strung
