Very nice museum, the story is very interesting, you can spend a lot of time admiring the objects inside, the offered me a free audio guide, that made the visit more confortable. The staff is very kind and always helpful. I was running late and I had to call to change my appointment an hour after, and I did it without problem. Totally recommended

Not so large, but interesting permanent exhibition and another 2 floors temporary exhibits. In October 2020 on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Definitely a place where quality is more important over quantity, worth to pay a visit when you are in Leiden.

Great museum about the culture of Japan. Especially the current exposition about the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is very interesting and educational!

Exquisite wunderkammer. Dimly lit exhibition of amazing objects adds to the atmosphere.

Visited the exhibition about cats in Japanese art. Gorgeous artwork, loved all the bits of information. I learned a lot. The museum gift shop is definitely worth checking out, by the way.
