Museum Gouda

Unfortunately, as of now, the section cobtaining old artifacts is closed off due to Covid-19, but still definitely worth lookibg at the history of the city.

Museum Gouda was founded in 1874 and is housed in the former hospital in the Catharina Gasthuis. You can see, among other things, a complete pharmacy interior on the original site of the Gouda city pharmacy, 16th-century altarpieces, 19th-century paintings and a collection of Gouda pottery. The entrance is through the Lazarus gate.

Within 1.5 hours you can see the whole place. It goes through the history of the city and has lots of art exhibitions as well.

Paintings hanging up to 4 meters high, probably due to lack of space.
