Along the Gouwegracht, on the side of the Lage and Hoge Gouwe, are two striking column-galleries. On the Lage Gouwe it is about the fish bank, on the Hoge Gouwe it is about the corn market. They date in its current - covered - form from the 17th century. A small house stands against the Visbank gallery. The so-called commissar house was at the time intended for the judges, also known as 'fish finders' by ordinary people from Gouwen. They were responsible for the inspection of freshwater and saltwater fish. Now you can admire handmade ceramic pipes in the house.
