Camping Uiterwaard

In 2018 wilden we met Hemelvaart op het laatste moment nog weg met de caravan. Camping de uijterwaard had nog plaats. Bij aankomst dachten we even euh ooowkay. Al snel waren de zorgen weg. Wat een fantastische (destijds) nieuwe beheerder. En wat hebben we op de zaterdag heerlijk meegegeten op het terras. Wij zijn niet het type mensen dat 2x naar dezelfde camping gaan maar voor het uittesten van onze nieuwe caravan en voortent zeiden wij allebei: dit gaan we in lexmond doen. We hebben nu al zin in het paasweekend!

We came here as a temporary guest for 2 days with the caravan, the aim was to move on to another one, but we don't want to leave! We will stay until the end of the season and have already booked the entire season next year. The sanitary facilities meet our standards and are updated daily. The children between 3 and 8 are richly represented here and know how to like each other, they can jump and clamber everywhere and on the go-karts. The private beach is located on the campsite, so you can enter the water from your tent. And if you want you can use the canoes for free. The owner and his children turn it into a social campsite and ensure that their guests have a good time. They are clear in their rules, after 10 o'clock no more noise. Food is not available every day, but usually on weekends. Especially the boss's daughter makes delicious roti, saoto soup and nasi bami at a reasonable price. A few days they also did a breakfast service, which may return next high season. Anyway enough positivity, we are not leaving! :-) Then just picking up on the parking policy and the negative reviews. Unfortunately, there are now many negative reviews from people who are not guests, but who place these reviews at the expense of the camping site de Uiterwaard. But these have been drawn unilaterally to an incident that has occurred. The road to the camping site De Uiterwaard is private property, camping Leuk has a right of way but must provide for parking on site. Guests of De Uiterwaard can park for free on their own road. There are signs along the road with a wheel clamp regulation and a clear sum in case of incorrect parking. Yesterday, the situation arose in which De Uiterwaard had to implement this regulation and the emotions of several people ran high, of course especially the victim. However, help from the police has been called in and De Uiterwaard has been proved in favor.

Very beautiful surroundings, from the caravan view over fields and horses. The Lek, wonderful swimming and beautiful views. The manager let us choose our spot and was very patient and friendly. It is a small site with good facilities. Plumbing is neat, the coffee delicious and the food was good! There are many mobile homes. But the field for touring caravans is surrounded by the air trampoline and playground equipment. There are large and spacious places. The manager is very involved with the guests. Our children would like a deep pool and do not like natural water. Hence, we will not come back. But it is really beautiful and a must if you want to experience a top holiday feeling in your own country.

Nice campsite, great swimming in the Lek. Plenty to do in summer for young and old. Cozy family campsite with a Surinamese touch. The first campsite run by Hindustanis. Nice canteen with various offerings.
