Vogelhut Eemmeer, Birdshelter Eemmeer

Something a bit difficult to find. At the end of the road, at the two gates, go east over the gate and into the meadow (not straight ahead towards the Stichtse Brug). Then after about 300 meters at the next 2 gates left onto the (almost) island and then follow the path in an easterly direction for another 100 meters.

Just a bird hide like there are so many. However, it is more difficult to find and reach than the average bird watching hut.

A very nice place!

A small birdhouse that is difficult to reach in certain parts of the year. When it has rained a lot, the path to it is under water. So put on your boots. Tip for the summer put on long sleeves and long pants. You have to go through the nettles and the reeds and choke on the mosquitoes. That said, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Eemmeer. Chance of Sea Eagle, Spoonbill, Crowned Duck and many other ducks and geese. You are closer to the birds than the more luxurious birdhouse that lies further east on Lake Eem. The walk from the fence is not long. After about 500 meters you are at the hut.

Every birdwatcher must go to the Eempolder at least once!
