All the content of my storage is ruined by severe mould. Shurgard has permitted merchants from Kenya to store "Yams" which are a kind of potatoes, they rot and smell like them anyways. All units on the ground floor have been victimised by the mould spread. It's dangerous to enter the space, my entire household which is stored there is ruined. The insurance will only cover parts, as long as I can claim using all original receipts of the furniture etc, still then they will only cover the "day vallue". I really believed that my entire storage was covered by their €10.000 insurance, seems that I will have to fight to get a few euros reimbursed, non of which will cover the costs of new furniture, clothes, jewellery and whatever more is stored over there. Furthermore Shurgard won't admit to any responsibility, and they still charge me monthly payments, no insurance agent has dropped by yet to inspect the damage, so even though I have been victimised here, they still make some more money out of my misery. I know from the staff that I'm not the only affected person, just not sure how the others have made it through. For me it was the last time to rent any storage unit at any Shurgard facility, and neither any big promising yet failing to reimburse fancy Insurance.
