Lovely site ideally located to see Keukenhof. Lake walks and nearby village has everything you need. Very friendly managers who maintain a very clean site.
Quiet campsite with clean facilities but inexistant Wi-Fi away from the cafe area. I would say 90% Dutch campers and an attitude from the staff/owners towards foreigners very odd indeed as our story and some of the other reviews show.
Unfortunately, our experience was spoiled from day one by the obnoxious attitude of one of the guys at reception. We had booked a pitch for 2 weeks for 2 adults, our teenage son, a camper towing a small car (my husband is disabled) and paid for having the car near the camper for an extra 2.50€/day.
When we arrived, a van was parked in the entrance that is only wide enough for one vehicle and with our 9m-long rig, my husband had to swing into what he thought was the next available entrance but was in fact the exit gate from the car-park adjacent to the site entrance. As a result, our car is sticking out into the road. I go to reception to introduce myself (in English) and ask the man (nicely) to open the gate but he responds : "You are not in England here, the entrance is at the other gate". When I explain that my husband can't reverse the camper/car A-frame rig and that he would have to unhitch the car in the middle of the road, he just stares at us with his arms crossed, saying he can't open the gate (oh, really?). So my disabled husband and my son are struggling to unhitch the car in uncoming traffic (fortunately Dutch drivers are far more considerate than Camping Sollasi staff), and Herr Flick opens the CORRECT gate to enter the car park. He then proceeds to say we cannot take the car onto the pitch "You can't do that here, this is the wrong kind of site". Pardon, what?
After this farce is over, I go back to reception to pay my 30€-plus fee for arriving a day early (I phoned in advance to make sure there was space) and I explain that we did not come into the WRONG entrance on purpose and ask him why he does not like English people and whether we are on the kind of site that charges 2.50€ a day to park a car on a pitch. Suddenly, his manner changes, he apologises and tells me we have a large pitch and CAN take the car inside the campsite next to the camper. Wow - how magnanimous of you! I am allowed to get a service I paid for...
We left 2 days early and were not asked if we enjoyed our stay even though our money seemed to please them enough.
Thank you Camp Sollasi for bullying my disabled husband after an exhausting day of driving, putting him and my son in a dangerous situation in the middle of a public road and making us feel like dirt on the first day of our holiday. Needless to say, you won't see us again but that suits you fine, doesn't it?
We stayed here with our motorhome for three nights in April during the Flower Weekend. It was very busy but the team found time to give us a warm and helpful welcome. Our pitch was reasonably level and a good size. Although there didn't seem to be many showers for the size of ground we never had to wait for showers, toilets or washing up. Plenty of hot water, everything clean. Great location for bulb fields and visit to Keukenhof and to have facilities like the bar/restaurant. Would recommend.
Nice place, clean and quiet. No internet connection.
Late in the evening did not accept the group (10 people) of the Polish Scouts just because they "have a bad opinion about the Poles". Threatened to "dangerous dog", they would not listen to any explanation, do not let break down the tents, and finally headed to the "next place", which turned out not to exist. Very inhospitable! Waste of time!
