A few years ago I did my son at the Montessori School in Haarlem. My son is dyslexic and not that sporty, so he didn't want to participate in gym. Teacher Monique Straatman from LH was of the opinion that my child could not stay at a normal school and that he should go to special education. She has done everything to get this done, such as deliberately withholding good results. The school also hired a new teacher. This man was taken by himself, and when something happened that didn't suit him, he started to scream. I called the previous school where this teacher worked for information. The headmaster of that school told me that he could not get along with children or with parents and that after two months they had said goodbye to this teacher. After this I called the director of the Montessori school to ask if this information was known to him. He appeared to be aware of this. I have picked up my son from this school. This school does not act in the best interest of the child.

We have read the review by Robert van Rhijn. Of course, former pupils / parents are free to leave a comment on the internet. We regret that someone in a fairly distant past (the boy who was talking about more than ten years ago, for one year, at our school) had such an unpleasant experience. The teacher in question, Monique, is registered with us as a very skilled, loving teacher, with many years of good reviews and an excellent press within our school. The negative review therefore concerns an individual case, which, in our opinion, was and is in no way representative of her and the organization. Management of the HMS.
