I very rarely go to the Dr but I have always been very happy with this practise. However it is maybe time to move into the 21st century. If you would buy the assistant a bluetooth head set then she would be a lot more efficient; two hands free to be able to look up and arrange things as she is talking. Then maybe she wouldn't get so stressed out with an expectation that answering a phone means you can also do other things!

I miss Anton. When I phoned to say that I wanted an appointment to meet the new dr they made an appointment with the person who stands in for her! My daughter doesn't want to go to the Dr's any more because she felt judged and rushed on her only appointment. I asked for an appointment for a back issue, was told that a phone appointment would be sufficient - she never called. No doubt the reply will be that you would have like to speak to me in person about this issue - then you should have called, when you were supposed to. And if you called from a private number - which is the only call I missed on Friday then you should know better. You cannot seriously expect a business number to answer a private number during office hours. Anton never did that. I can think of no possible good (professional) reason for doing so (I imagine you are calling for convenience from your personal number rather than the business number), in which case, it might then be a good idea when insisting that someone only needs to be spoken to on the phone to actually mention that they may be called from a private number. As you seem to place all responsibility for everything that occurs with your practise on the person who sees an issue; the internet is the perfect place to have the discussion
