I have had bad experiences with this training. I started here in 2016 because I was interested in ICT. Unfortunately, the training was very disappointing. Under the motto "we teach you to work independently" we were completely left to our own devices. Whenever I had a question, every time I was told to "look it up on google." What I honestly ask myself is: What did I pay for if teachers refuse to explain to me? A great deal was expected of us in a very short time. Those who started the training without any programming experience had to carry out a real ICT project within a few weeks. The SLB was also very demotivating: Is it not working? Then you just don't have it in you, he told me. We worked very long days and sat on very uncomfortable chairs that were not good for my back. I was often not taken seriously by teachers, which I found very unfortunate. The only students somewhat encouraged by the teachers were those who already had ICT experience. According to Fontys' statistics, only 50%, half (!) Of the students who enroll in this program in the first year, do not obtain a diploma within 5 years. In my opinion, this is worrying. An education where half of the (paying) students do not obtain a diploma, personally seems to me an education that needs a lot of overhaul. Fraud is a strong word, but it is nevertheless the word that I would personally like to use for this study, as the study in question is very unsuitable for students without prior knowledge and I did not feel welcome there.
