The Saint Willibrord Church is a church of the Sacred Heart Parish and is located in Esch. The parish has 4 church buildings: St. Peter's Basilica in Boxtel, the oldest, St. Willibrord's Church in Esch, St. Therese Church in Lennisheuvel and St. John's Decapitation Church in Liempde. Saint Willibrord's Church was consecrated in 1927. The Sint-Willibrorduskerk in Esch is a special building. The oldest part is the tower, which is more than 500 years old. It was built between 1450 and 1500. The church building that is now adjacent to it, is already the third almshouse on that site. The current Willibrorduskerk is only just 80 years old. It was built and consecrated in 1927 to replace a nineteenth-century church which, according to the then parish priest, Henricus van Duren, was in ruins. This beautiful Essche church is located on the Dorpsstraat of Esch.
