On December 17, 2019, it is 116 years ago that the Wright brothers were the first to make a successful flight with the Wright Flyer. They have been twelve meters and 37 meters in the air. A replica of this aircraft can be seen in the Flying Museum Seppe, including a model and a copied wind tunnel! Do you want to know more about this special event? Or are you curious about more fun stories about airplanes? Then visit the Flying Museum Seppe. Family expansion! The (aircraft) family De Havilland has a new addition to the museum: a de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk, registration G-BWNT. The name of the manufacturer says it all, it is the Canadian branch of the famous English aircraft factory de Havilland. Before the Second World War, DH.60 Moths and DH.82 Tiger Moths were built in Canada. One of the first achievements after the war was a training aircraft of its own design: the DHC-1 Chipmunk. The prototype chose airspace in 1946. This aircraft was the successor of the cloth-covered Tiger Moth biplane. The Chipmunk was better suited to the Canadian climate. The G-BWNT was built in 1953 at the Havilland in Hawarden, England and entered service with the Royal Air Force as "WP901". In 1983 the aircraft was brought to the No. 6 Air Experience Flight of the Air Training Corps (ATC), a military youth organization sponsored by the RAF and the British Ministry of Defense. The device remained in service until 1996. Then the plane came into private hands as G-BWNT. After 23 years in English hands, the Chipmunk was sold to the Netherlands in 2019. The painting of the aircraft is still identical to its last ATC time.

Beautiful, well-maintained aircraft. And bigger than expected!

Beautiful museum with passionate volunteers. It's great to see so many historic planes in flying condition. I especially came to see the bf109 g5 which has been beautifully restored. If you are in the area it is definitely recommended to stop by!

If you are a fan of aircraft and their engines you are in the right place. You are shown around, only walking between the planes is not allowed because most are privately owned. It can unfortunately be cool in the large hangar. Enthusiastic volunteers will tell you everything about it. You can sit comfortably in the restaurant that belongs to the airport.
