The Spanish Government, on the Vrijthof, is nowadays called the Museum on the Vrijthof. The old name dates back to Spanish influences in the Middle Ages. The red color of the building is striking. Also look at the 3 arched windows on the top right. Here you can see, among others, the weapon of Charles V and the shared weapon of Habsburg and Castile.

It used to be the Spanish government but is now a museum where you can discover a different piece of Maastricht's history in every room. Very nice to take a look and in the center of the city
