La Cubanita Sittard

The appearance of La Cubanita is, like any establishment, attractive and certainly inviting. People sometimes say don't judge a book by its cover and that is certainly the case here too. Looks can be deceiving. The food was very disappointing, not comparable to real Cuban tapas. I could have prepared just about every place setting that was served in my own kitchen. A pick with a cherry tomato and a pre-packaged mozzarella ball is not an exclusive tapas to name just one of the many disappointing examples ... to make a long story short, it looked more like a Dutch composition of snacks bought at a local supermarket than really authentic dishes. The sauces were either very sweet or very salty. Totally unbalanced seasoned. As far as I am concerned, that was the first and last time La Cubanita ..... I must give my compliments for the looks, the packaging and the marketing machine behind this organization, this restaurant chain can bring in customers ... but they are me lost as a customer because unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The cocktails, on the other hand, were fine, but I prefer to go to a cocktail bar for that.

Bad service. Booked at 5:30 pm (we were present at 5:40 pm) and at 7:10 pm we were kindly requested that we had to make room for new guests at 7:30 pm. Apparently you can only stay 2.5 hours. Could not find that anywhere and we had reserved by phone and we were not told. The site only offers unlimited tapas for € 23.50 on weekends. That's all. I still argued that we could stay until 8:00 pm but the employee was instructed by the manager that we still had to go before 7:30 pm So after about 2 hours we were outside again without having had an after dish. Won't recommend this to anyone to go. Just how communication is handled after a mass. Finally went to Sol on the market and despite the fact that they were very full we finished our evening there with dessert. Finally a day later received a personal message from the owner. That they invite us to make amends. I kindly declined this, but it is nice that they take the complaints seriously. Hopefully they adjust the site so that everyone knows there is a time limit.

Picked up a delicious tapas experience here during the Covid pandemic. still feel like you are having a nice dinner, but then at home 😁

Had dinner here for the first time today. Nicely decorated restaurant and tasty dishes that are also served quickly. You have plenty of time, but not enough space in your stomach to order the entire menu. You can do that by coming back again. So see you next time!

Placed an order today and unfortunately two dishes were not included. Normally it is very tasty and well cared for but this time it was disappointing. Unfortunately after our super experiences a downer.
