I think this is such a nice initiative to see. Just in the middle of the street is a cupboard with books in it that you can borrow or read. The only thing you are asked to do is occasionally add your own book.
A nice side effect is that there is an interesting kind of selection of books that you probably would not have thought of yourself.
The library has been around for a few years and it is still being used.
