Totally recommend to experience this, you can endlessly imagine how it feels to be blind, but it is better to try once. Very friendly staff, answered our questions and brought some insights from their world. Also you are basically helping this people to be employed.

What a breathtaking experience! I called ahead of visiting the museum to organise a tour in English, which was quickly organised. Once there, you are shown an exhibit detailing how blind people read and interact with the world differently. We were then taken on a ‘holiday’ in the complete dark, first by going to an airport desk, checking in, arriving in your hotel and then visiting a bar. The guides are all either partially sighted or completely blind and are happy for you to ask them questions during your tour. I can’t recommend this museum enough. It raised awareness of the challenges faced by blind people and filled me with admiration for the way they overcome adversity.

A whole new and different experience! New and enriching experience :) I recommend. They have different tours so I will come back for another one.

Enlightening experience! Booked an English guided tour for «Donker Belevingen». Was a bit frustrating at the beginning, because I couldn't pay online as a foreigner – which was quickly solved with a call. The price is reasonable, the museum is central. It's less of a traditional museum and more of an interactive experience. In «Donker Belevingen» you take on the role of a blind person and live through our very own daily life from a different perspective. Everything is pitch dark, all you get is a stick and your other senses to find your way around numerous spaces, such as: Home, Grocery store, Street and others. The guide was talkative, supportive and always around in case someone got lost. It was a frightening experience, but one that truly made me appreciate my visual senses more and not take them for granted, as well as be able to cognitively empathize with sight impaired people. I recommend muZIEum to anyone – it's something everyone can relate to and literally «eye opening»!
