Stadscafé Van der Werff

Wonderful place to eat, usual high quality freshly prepared food as is normal for Leiden, served to restaurant standards. Prices are higher thus than the cafe's.

They stick to the law on usage of alcohol below 18 Edit: just joking, it's a good thing they do that ofc

Very rude, they have a sign on the entrance that asks you to wait until they come to you, but they will keep walking by you like you are invisible.

Good food, drink and a nice experience. Sometimes a little slow to get served and back garden was closed but all together I’d recommend .

It's okay but I'm not in love with the place. It's noisy and the atmosphere is not great. We were in the mood for brunch and the menu did not really speak to us given that there was nothing sweet on it, no yoghurt, no croissant, no brownies, nothing. Breakfast ended at 11. There was also no option to have oat milk instead of normal milk. So in the end we had the eggs which were fine (portion is way too big). I think this place is mostly for older people (not very modern) or when you simply want beer and a savory snack. It's not good for brunch.
