Bar Bistro Raphael

The service was perfectly fine, nice location, tasteful interior. However I ordered a brushetta: which famously involves garlic, onion, and crucially basil, on a slice of fresh baguette style bread. I received a blob of mozzarella on top of a piece of hard, dark, dark brown bread, with a few pieces of lettuce around it. The only ingredients it had in common with brushetta were the sliced tomato, and the balsamic garnish. Unfortunately I cannot recommend a restaurant that takes so much license with a dish, that they are no longer serving you what you asked for.

The food is amazing for having something small to eat with your drink! I loved the beef tartar and the fried chicken thighs (+amazing fries with truffle mayo)

Sat there with our family yesterday. The terrace was nicely packed. We had been sailing and wanted to have lunch, we were there around 1.20 pm and lunch arrived at 3.00 pm. We indicated that it took a very long time, the waitress went to have a look and then did not return to report how and what .. after 10 minutes she came to say that it had gone wrong due to busy in the kitchen but that it was the make was ..... and again 5 minutes later another girl came to report that it was apparently due to an error of the system. And if we still wanted to order it, she had the kitchen make it now. What we got was tasty in itself, my children had ordered toasted sandwich and that was no bigger than my hollow tooth, it was probably because they had cut the crusts off. Pulled chicken sandwich tasted good, but was also a small sandwich. Or we are well spoiled in Brabant by the bistros with large portions. Eventually we got the drinks as a present so that was neat in itself, but if I come back to Leiden I will look further than this bistro.

Eaten super tasty sandwiches! 1 with pork belly and 1 with avocado. I especially liked the one with avocado!
