It's a nice library located in the wing of the former prison of Leeuwarden. Several floors of books (mostly in Dutch). I like how everything has been refurbished and looks brand new. The staff was friendly and helpful. The library was not that crowded in this covid 19 context.

Information should also be in English. Wifi and computers have a process to connect, would be easy if English is also displayed.

Very unique design. Felt a little tough, scary the first time since it seems like a prison. Or it was a prison, maybe? I don’t know. But overall, the whole place has comfortable seats, nice collection of books and cute cafe downstairs as well. Doable, I would say. As for studying, since it wasn’t built to be a library an lots of open spaces, it’s not quiet. You can hear literally everything.

On Tuesday evening, December 1, I am in dbieb looking for picture books (with the theme Christmas) for my son's internship. A very friendly employee came to me and asked if I had found anything yet. I told them that I could not find anything ... She was kind enough to look up in the computer where the relevant picture books were ... Then she saw that they were picture books with the Christmas theme. She said that these were only placed in the racks after Sinterklaas .... She then reserved all picture books. She also arranged that the picture books could be picked up asap! Thursday, December 3, I received an email that the picture books were ready .... I want to make a big compliment for this great service !!! Thank you so much!!!
