It was pretty fun! I personally learned a lot and I can definitely recommend it, even if I wouldn't return to this place. It's relatively small, which can be good or bad depending on how much you enjoy museums. Overall good place.

Very friendly and helpful guide who guided us to the fun bits in town that kids would enjoy even on a rainy off- season day

I don't speak Dutch and this negativity impacted our visit. A good exhibit on St Boniface who was killed near Dokkum in 754. Some artifacts and paintings from the past couple of hundred years and a collection of old bibles. There were sheets with English translation for the St Boniface exhibit but little or no translation elsewhere.
