De Uithof

Fun times, tons of options. Indoor snow hill was what we did, small, but quick and fun. Good for practicing basic skills at the start of the year...

de uithof is a pretty skate rink which provides a perfect day out. it has a large oval rink, which is ideal for ice racing. there is a middle, more open rink in the centre which i prefer for figure skating. i love the little fairy lights around the rink, it makes it very atmospheric and gives it an extra wintery feel. it is usually very busy, especially during the holidays and on weekends. in the early morning sessions, it is less crowded but there are lessons in progress so it can be hard to find space to practise. the ice quality really fluctuates depending on how many people are there. some days it's perfect, while other days, it feels like you're skating on rocks. the skates are very expensive to rent, are not usually sharpened, and are very heavy, so i would recommend bringing your own. plastic seals and penguins are available for at no extra cost for beginners who need some support.

The ice skating ring was not crowded. Everything was organised. Had a great time.

Laser gaming was fun. You even get to play against other teams
