Order two SR621SW watch batteries. One appears to be defective because only two days. The second battery is OK. Lucas wants to send a new battery (value € 2), but requires the return of the defective battery (postage: € 1.13). What a big person can be small in, was my response.
Lucas responds that he would reimburse the shipping costs "naturally" (is nowhere in his conditions), but could only send a new battery when he had received the non-working battery back. "That's just my course of action and I don't deviate from that."
After further discussion, he said: "I have thought about this unnecessary, very unpleasant discussion and have decided to refund the cost of 1 € 2 battery to your account." Lucas refuses replacement and puts a line under the customer-supplier relationship.
No example of business ingenuity.
