Efes Mediterraans Delicatessen

Small snack bar or “dönertent” in the center of the Nieuwland district. Here you almost trip over the eateries and take out “restaurants” and Efes you quickly pass, because it does not look very striking. Once inside you enter a relatively small snack bar, it does not matter because it is mainly a pick-up location. The light box above the counter lists Mediterranean delicacies, but it's mostly (the almost usual) kebab related menu. Kapsalon and döner, and of course the Turkish pizza. The meat, doner in our case, is just the standard doner meat you get almost everywhere. Fine, but not a culinary high-quality product, and unfortunately also from a warming container and therefore somewhat bland and limp. The kapsalon gets freshly baked fries with the meat and finally the vegetables. The chips are not overly crispy and that's a shame. Because the meat comes out of the warming container, this ensures that the fries quickly become limp and soggy. Eating fast is the advice. Quantity, on the other hand, is fine. It is advisable to omit the garlic sauce, otherwise it will become a bit soggy. The Turkish pizza is richly filled, and very tasty. The döner sandwich is also good to eat with an almost perfect ratio of meat and vegetables. All in all a fairly nice meal, for a not too high price. If you bake the fries just a little longer, it will certainly taste better. The owner certainly does her best, is extremely friendly and special wishes are always possible. Some colleagues in the area can learn from that ...! Google does not know half stars, so instead of 3.5 stars, it is still 4. Especially because of the nice lady behind the counter👍

Clean, fast and very friendly. Normal prices and tasty Turkish pizza. My lunch was successful, definitely worth repeating!
