[Van Eesteren Paviljoen, New West Side Museum] The Western Garden City was originally planned in CE 1935, and the actual construction began after CE 1950s. At the beginning of the planning, the idea of a suburban garden city, low-rise buildings and high-quality open space were called for. However, due to excessive social housing (95%) and lack of public investment, some weak anti-social behaviors were caused, and the middle class was reluctant to move among them. In view of this, the government began to promote urban renewal in CE 2000, promoting community redevelopment through the construction of public facilities and some residential remodeling and selling, and establishing a museum to record the process of promotion.
