OBS Cranendonck (Openbare Basisschool)

My daughter attended school here for nine long years. But let's start in a positive way: OBS Cranendonck is located in a beautiful, new building and the toddler years were very cozy. But when we expected me to really start grade 3 elementary school, the disappointment started. There are above average many students who have scrambled the maximum time. Normally they should just flow through. We got the suspicion that this happened for formation reasons: if students were forwarded each time, there would again be a class that was too small for that year. This has financial consequences for the school. So several of my daughter's years were above average when they went to high school. My daughter struggled with certain subjects, where I rang the bell from group 4 for better and extra education. When you come to the school with that, you will be confronted with surprise, incomprehension and ignorance. To cut a long story short: after insisting, an action plan was made with reluctance by the Internal Supervisor. Subsequently, this was not evaluated on the results and it was discontinued without consultation. We also asked for a Remedial Teacher, for extra guidance. Not exactly unusual in primary education. OBS Cranendonck has chosen not to offer this. If you want to use it, you have to pay that RT'er yourself. The student is at the mercy of regular class management. Prolonged classroom instruction is the highest attainable for students left behind at this school. Furthermore, the sparkle and drive my daughter started in kindergarten has disappeared over the years. She has hardly any motivation left. The children are also generally silent or denied that there are difficult subjects. You can find a report on the website of the Education Inspectorate. Search Google with "system research" and "Cranendonck": everything that strikes is the nail on the head. In the years since the report was released, my daughter has seen no improvement. This school has left my daughter outrageously.
