Old Dutch protestant church. The roof was made of a ship. Good acoustics as we sang there with our choir

Great place for small cosy festivals, attended quite a few there already.

In 1466 the chapel was therefore elevated to 'ecclesia' and the church community was detached from The Hague. This was partly due to the forceful intervention - against the will of senior administrators - of the Scheveningen churchmaster IJsbrant Arentszoon who will be discussed here later. As a result, all religious acts could now take place in their own village. monksElderly and sick villagers were no longer deprived of this. It must have strongly emphasized the central function of the already existing chapel from that year. Was the current church built shortly thereafter? Because in the roof construction counting brands have been found that look like they date from the second half of the fifteenth century. And at least it was buried in 1469, as will be seen.
