Nice museum in a 'private house setting' with a specific collection of paintings, pottery and some other art. Focused on the previous owners (Mesdag and his wife) and mostly others from the painting school they belonged to (The Hague School). Do consider visiting also the De Mesdag Panorama, another museum about 5 min. walking (extra ticket). Dutch Museumkaart accepted in both.

Lovely and impressive collection of paintings. Definitely worth the visit. You will be overwhelmed with impressions. It is also in a beautiful old home with breathtaking views.

It is the old home of the painter. In it we see his impressive collection of paintings, mostly Dutch and French ftom the 19th century. We also learn about his life and times. It is not a big museum. So just set aside one and a half to two hours of your time for this. It really is a must see!
