DISDH in The Hague is a very good school, however, very demanding in terms of hardwork that students have to perform. This brings high achievements though.

Living in various countries, our boys have until their 15th resp. 12th year only attended German-language education. When we returned to the Netherlands in 2009, we - two Dutch parents - decided to continue German-language education. This decision, after some deliberation, took us to the DISDH. This choice turned out to be a good one because our expectations were met. Not a massive education factory, but a small-scale school with small classes, which makes children feel at home quickly and creates a sense of security. The small classes also lead to more intensive contact between teacher and student, which benefits the transfer of knowledge, among other things. The students are on the one hand challenged on the other hand intensively guided. The international character of the DISDH is becoming increasingly explicit. Not only because of the bilingual education introduced in 2013, but also because the pupils come from various countries. In general, teachers are highly motivated and therefore strongly involved with the school and the students. Contact between teachers and parents is also easy; an appointment for a meeting is quickly made. Due to good communication between teacher, students and parents, students at the DISDH do not quickly get into trouble. Are there no negative aspects? Yes of course. Understandably, the students follow the German educational curriculum and are therefore taught the German language and culture. The optional subject Dutch, taught with great enthusiasm in the upper years, provides a reasonable basic knowledge of the Dutch language and some of the Dutch culture, but is of course no substitute for a Dutch school. Parents will therefore have to take responsibility themselves in this area. There's nothing wrong with that. We have noticed that there is a strong mutual bond between the students. Many social activities of the (senior) students - especially on weekends - are mainly carried out with their fellow students from school. Short and good; we are very satisfied with the German school. The students must do what is necessary to obtain their diploma; they are challenged. But the DISDH certainly creates good conditions for reaching the finish line. Our oldest son is currently a second year student at a Dutch university. He has experienced that the DISDH has given him excellent baggage and also looks back with pleasure at his time at the German gymnasium.

Our children have had a "soft landing" at the DISDH. At this school the children are very open to newcomers. This is how our children were well received and that is how our children now deal with new children. The level of education is high and the children are well supervised along the way. It is an advantage that the Grundschule and Sekundarstufe are in one building, which allows for mutual consultation and exchange of experiences. The children also love the Mittagsbetreuung. They would prefer to go there every day, because such fun activities are organized. All in all, we are very satisfied with this school!

Quite poor stake quality. The meat wasn't quite through and still had gristle. only 1.5 stars. Some of the staff is quite well trained.
