On our walk we come across this museum, which is located in a former school building. A historic place, because here General Winkelman signed the capitulation to the Germans on May 15, 1940. Although outside opening hours, we are invited by a very friendly employee to take a look inside. We seem to enter another time. Very interesting!

We visited this museum with a group of former colleagues. It is a private museum situated in a former primary school, run by a group of enthusiastic volunteers. After receiving coffee / tea and cakes, we received an interesting introduction about the origins of the museum. Then we took a seat in an old-fashioned schoolroom seated in the old benches and received (very recognizable to us) an explanation of how things were going. Then we came to the room where the capitulation was sealed in the May days of 1940 and were given an explanation. Lifelike Dutch and German soldiers in the form of "mannequins" in uniform were seated around a table. Then to the old Zeis planetarium where we could see the projected starry sky and finally a return simulator to the moon in a flight simulator. All in all an extremely interesting and informative visit!

We went to the museum with family and friends (22 people young and old). The program was: coffee and cake; guided tour (classroom; capitulation room; planetarium and time machine) and a cruise, including drinks and snacks, on the Waal. The enthusiastic guides told everything about the subject. The cruise was very beautiful and comfortable. Everything agreed was carried out and nothing was too much. In short, we went home with a satisfied feeling! Recommended!
