Jeanpagne Bistro & Wijnbar

Used to be my fav place that I did my best to support during the lockdown, too. However, I’m sad to see that now if you pass by, they decide if you’re gonna get a table or not if you have food only. Saw a bunch of free tables the other day, but since I mentioned we’ll have drinks “none of them are free”. I was, however, asked at the beginning if “would you like dinner?”. I understand you need to make some profit again, but not like that...

Caesar salad good, but the benedict eggs not so much due to the sauce. Lovely staff!

I went to have dinner here on my way to Amsterdam. My original plan was to dine at the restaurant right next to this one, but it was full and I had no reservation. So I came here. Don’t even know what cuisine does this restaurant have but it turned out it’s French, same as the restaurant next door lol. The waitress was friendly and helpful, recommend me a few dishes. I had an app that was vegetable based pie (forgot the name), a catfish as main course and a German pie thing as dessert. Food tasted good. The only reason I knocked down 1 Star was the service was really slow. I spent about 2 hours here. Not sure if this is common in Europe but if you are time constrained this might not be the best option.

Delicious lunch, fantastic dessert and great wines! Will definitely return!
