Delicious food, the attention is so good as well! I highly recommend!!!!

They have a large variety of small tapas style dishes, very nice and very relaxed place. Seems to be quiet during regular evenings outside of the weekend

Ordered via home delivery, it would take about half an hour. Took an hour longer according to the app. Called, the owner thought it necessary to call me: Hey baby and have a big mouth. Then we got the food; never again. What a disaster meal for 2 people ... € 50 in the bin ...

Last Sunday we went to the Greek restaurant Mazi Mas in Wijk bij Duurstede for the second time. The first time was about two years ago which was a good experience for us. Today with a group of four people put the restaurant to the test. We made a reservation at 6:00 PM and were the first on arrival. We were allowed to choose a table ourselves, so there was enough space and chose a table by the window. Neat clean empty table. After a while, the drinks were taken in and served. Then the menus were presented. The waiting staff consisting of the owner and a young girl were the only point of contact in the restaurant. We got the menu, and outside the menu there would be a tapas menu available. The girl did not know what this was and was therefore also read from the chalkboard. Later turned out to be incomplete, as it turned out to be a two-person dish consisting of the selection from the menu. That menu itself was very, very limited. Due to the corona virus, the restaurant had opted for a reduced menu. A few starters and main courses, one vegetarian. What we noticed is that in a restaurant which claims to be typically Greek, we were not offered a Greek drink (Oozo). After a long wait, we were able to pass on our choices. We had chosen to order “PIKILIA” twice as a starter, which was “plate with delicious dishes to share” for a total of € 29, -. The lady did not know exactly what this was all about, but at least it is delicious ... In the end we did not receive the starter until 19:00 (more than an hour after arrival). The girl brought us two planks of dishes and put them on the table. However, we are not all very familiar with Greek cuisine, so it is helpful to be told what to eat. "Well, I don't really know that either" was the response. It was a board with six different Greek (?) Dishes, consisting of meatballs, (cold) feta balls, puff pastry with feta, vine leaves with rice, squid rings and minced meat feta balls. Nice to be able to taste such a large arsenal of Greek dishes. After a while the platter was picked up and our second drink taken. However, it was 8.15 pm before the main course was served. Having to wait almost an hour and a half for four main courses is really crazy. It was nice if they preferred the deliveries that the restaurant also offers. Eventually asked where the food was, would be checked and then no response. In total there were 14 guests including us for two people. Then it should be possible to speak to your guests to some extent. When the food was finally served it was ice cold. Both the mixed grill and the bifteki were cold, only the fish of the day was at a decent temperature. We approached the staff and had to return three of the four dishes. Then it was served slightly warmer. The bifteki was tasty now, only we found the mixed grill to be rather dry and bland. The gyros, chicken and pork are all seasoned in the same way, which meant that little distinction could be made in terms of flavors. We received a small portion of fries and a tasty Greek salad for a fee. This time it was really disappointing! In the end we left without dessert after paying an amount of € 130 (?!). No more mazi mas for us, we were really disappointed in the evening.
