The cathedral of 't Sticht and of Schalkwijk. After the restoration in 2010/11, the interior shines from all sides. Then the polychrome and colorful painting was expertly tackled, with the result that everyone can quietly enjoy the artwork that the members of the St. Bernulophus guild created here at the end of the 19th century. The view from the tower over the island of Schalkwijk is breathtaking! It takes a while to climb and continue, but then the environment is open to you.

Lovely cathedral in the countryside

Beautiful church, with a beautiful cemetery with many family names from the immediate vicinity.

They also call the St Michael's Church in Schalkwijk the Sticht cathedral and that name is due to its enormous height and size. The church can already be seen from a great distance in the landscape of the Eiland van Schalkwijk, it is a beacon on your foot and bike rides through the beautiful surroundings. I have also climbed the tower on an Open Monuments Day. The entire company, the tower clocks up and down narrow ladders, but once there, the effort is rewarded with a beautiful view of Schalkwijk and the surrounding area, an experience that is certain. The interior of the church is certainly impressive due to its great height and space, definitely worth a visit.
