From spring to autumn a nice place to relax. The access path on the Tetwijkseweg has recently been improved and hardened, so that you do not go through the blub after a rain shower. In the garden season there are often volunteers to give text and explanations. In 2007, a beautiful garden was laid out on the grounds where the old castle Schalkwijk stood. At the garden there is a sign with the map on which plants where. A nice piece of history near Utrecht and Houten. (Pictures from March 2019, next months will follow updates with the growth and flowering of the gardens).
It is always nice to visit Jonkheer Ramt's garden. On the castle site of the former Schalkwijk castle.
The garden is not large and yet there is much to see on it
all those well-kept beds. It is always quiet there. In hot weather you can sit on a bench in the shade and enjoy the beautiful flowers.
If you are in the area, I would say take a look, it is worth it.
