Compliments to the Village Mad! It is cozy, service is great and the food is tasty too. Nowhere are the fries so tasty! Nicely seasoned and well baked. But I especially like the way of dealing with customers. I asked for extra fries and he didn't even charge. When I said, you forget to count the fries, he said, you don't have to, I just add extra fries. Well, if that's not a service ... (I think a tip is appropriate) but the fact that he does and also: I do add a little extra sauce, that's nice too. No, they can't break me there! Top! and on to better times. Kind regards, Ingrid

Recently got the Gourmet package de luxe and this was again very tasty as always. Normally a super cozy eatery to socialize with friends and also have a nice meal. There is often a lack of food at such tents, but absolutely not here! Good food, friendly prices, cozy atmosphere and ditto staff! Don't forget to take a drink after dinner haha! We hope to see you again soon!

Nowadays, catering establishments are all becoming more uniform, I think. Trendy open design, fast service, wifi and fancy-looking food. But not the best food. And certainly not cozy in my opinion. De Dorpsgek has been in Maarssen as long as I live (born and raised there) and has always remained the same. Just the good old trusted brown eatery on the Kaatsbaan. The Dorpsgek and the Broeder are the nicest in the whole street! And then the Village madman wins, because you are less noticeable there as a non-regular guest. Also great to meet up with friends for a cozy evening.

Super cozy eatery in the heart of Maarssen village, on the Kaatsbaan. In the morning, great coffee, great lunch and dinner or drinks later in the day.
